Turn a sunny stop into charging time with the Dark Energy Spectre 18W Folding Solar Panel. Pack it for trail breaks, paddling trips and days around camp, then unfold it to recharge compatible USB gear when sunlight is available.
Key Details
- Up to 18W total solar output: The USB-C port supports up to 18W; the operating guide lists USB-A output up to 15W. The port ratings do not add together.
- Built-in sun meter: LED indicators help you adjust the panel for stronger exposure.
- Folds for transport: Approximately 12.5 × 9.25 inches folded and 12.5 × 24.5 inches open, following the supplied model’s gallery measurements. The current manufacturer product graphic lists approximately 20.5 oz (581 g).
- USB charging: Connect using a cable suited to your device. A separate solar charge controller is not needed for its USB outputs.
Store Daylight for Later
For steadier charging, use the panel to recharge a compatible power bank, then charge your devices from that battery. The Poseidon Pro is a useful companion and is sold separately.
The Spectre generates electricity but does not store energy. Output varies with sunlight, shade, angle, temperature and the connected device. It is a USB solar panel, not a replacement for a large power station’s higher-wattage solar array.
The manufacturer lists an IPX7 panel rating. Keep USB connections and connected electronics dry, protect the panel from punctures and sharp creases, and follow the operating guide. The kickstand supports panel positioning toward the sun.
